Plums & Prunes

Plums originated in China and are a recurring theme in the writings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius.  Red plums have skin that is purplish-red in color, and taste sweet yet tangy.  Dried plums are a rich source of vitamin K and fiber which aids constipation, thereby reducing the risk of colon cancer. Prunes are dried plums, and were most likely discovered when plums dried on the vine accidentally.
