Marcona almonds, the “Queen of Almonds,” are imported from Spain. They are shorter, rounder, softer, and sweeter than the California variety. These blanched Marcona almonds are roasted in olive oil and then sprinkled with sea salt, offering a delicious taste. Only a small number of the world’s almonds come from Spain, but Spanish almond are known for their unique profiles and excellent, natural cultivation processes. European regulations do not require almonds to be pasteurized, so the almonds of all varieties maintain a more natural texture and flavor.

Spain is the only producer of this unique almond; round and plump, sweet and with very low bitterness, the Marcona almond is used predominantly in pastries and baked goods. They are quite famous around the world and very different than almonds here in America – both in flavor and shape. Grown in the Mediterranean coast of Spain – from Malaga to Tarragona, the Marcona is easily recognizable by it’s unique light brown, almost holey shell. Totally natural, totally sweet, these Marcona almonds are lightly fried in olive oil and salted. Absolutely delicious as a snack. Produced by De Juan, Spain.
